"If only we're brave enough to be it."

When times are hopeless, we need hope. When times are dark, we need light. When times are full of isolation and restrictions, we need love. And when our life consists entirely of mistrust, we need faith.

Most of the world was watching when the poet Amanda Gorman stepped onto the world stage and delivered a breathtaking inauguration poem that shared light, hope, love and faith.

In the light of all events that had been going on both in the States and the darkness of the Pandemic in the rest of the world, she said what was needed to be said and invited us to take part with the strong words that ended the speech:

"For there is always light,
if only we're brave enough to see it.
If only we're brave enough to be it."

Easter is around the corner. Another reminder, that light is more substantial than darkness. At Easter, we are met by the risen Lord, that is a light that removes the darkness and hopelessness in our hearts.

"In him was life, and the life was the light of all people. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overcome it." (John 1,4-5).

We are the people upon whom the light of Christ shines! That is salvation and an obligation. My Easter prayer is - with Amanda Gorman's words - that we are brave enough to be the light for each other.

Happy Easter - and blessed Spring,
